You might be ready to start an Amazon eCommerce business. Business opportunities in this day and age are practically everywhere you look. And I know how hard it can be to drill down and focus on one that you passionately want to pursue. When I first started my own entrepreneurial pursuits I tried everything from real estate investing, DJ’ing and just about anything else that you can think of.
So let me go ahead and get to the point here and give you some good reasons why you should consider starting an eCommerce business, in particular one that harnesses the power of the Amazon FBA (Fulfillment By Amazon) program. There are many advantages over other startup business opportunities you may currently be evaluating:
1. Tap into the Amazon channel
Amazon had 2013 sales of $74.5B, and grew by more than 20% in 2014. That’s incredible. But what’s even more incredible is that Amazon lets you sell your products in their store at no significant cost to you, allowing you to tap into the massive investment they’ve made in their infrastructure and in gathering a huge base of customers that you can tap into!
2. Very low overhead
Selling on Amazon requires very little initial or ongoing investment, making it a great startup opportunity for even the most cash-strapped.
3. High degree of automation
This entire business can run largely on autopilot. Amazon will literally warehouse your products, process your orders, and pack and ship your products to your customers for you. That means it’s perfect for those of you looking to start a business while still holding a job, or those of you looking for a large degree of flexibility around the hours you work.
4. Passive income
Related to the high degree of automation above, the Amazon sales opportunity is a great way to earn significant income with very little of your time and energy invested (once you have your products up in Amazon, that is), making it a perfect opportunity for those of you still holding a job or looking to supplement your income during retirement.
5. Recurring revenue
Amazon has a massive number of customers shopping on their site each day, which means you can expect a consistent flow of new orders.
6. You don’t have to be an expert in anything
This is perfect for those of you that have considered the information products/expert business but struggled with creating content. You don’t have to be an expert in anything to sell on Amazon, and you don’t need to create much of any content (other than a product description).
7. You don’t have to create your own products
This is the first objection I typically hear from people when they first hear about the opportunity to sell on Amazon – “I don’t have a product to sell”. The good news is that you don’t need to create your own products! You just need to know how to find products that already exist and are selling on Amazon, and do a slightly better job of marketing them.
8. You don’t have to handle any inventory or do any shipping
Fulfillment by Amazon, a service of Amazon.com, will handle all of your warehousing, packing, and shipping for you – you don’t ever have to touch your products!
With all of these benefits combined, you’ve got an amazing start-up business model that’s truly hard to beat!
And what I like the most about it is that this is a business that can be done by anyone, no matter your age, race, location, accent, or education level.
Yep, everyone qualifies. Seriously.
Have I done enough to convince you this is a business worth getting involved in right away?
