- Gary Vaynerchuk, Gary Vaynerchuk Quotes, Jeff Vacek
So, as you can see, the quote in this feature image isn’t actually my quote.
It is a quote from Gary Vaynerchuk that I heard him say on a recording from one of his keynotes recently and that he has been preaching ever since.
“How you MAKE your money is more important that how MUCH you make.”
Here’s my philosophy on this… If you can’t look in the mirror and say that you LOVE how you make your money and that you would do it for just enough to make ends meet, you’re in the wrong business.
And it’ll be short lived, won’t last and won’t feed you long-term in most cases.
Now, that might piss you off or you might think I’m crazy or whatever for saying that… But take it from someone that did some things ‘just to make a lot of money’ and in the end, it didn’t last, I wasn’t happy and I almost got divorced and disconnected from my kids over them (personal reveal there… Yeah, I’m human).
I’m not saying pass up a good opportunity to make money, especially if you need it right now. Not at all.
But keep it in context. Understand that it needs to be short-lived OR you need to replace yourself and hand it over to someone else.
I have a couple of businesses right now where I don’t do jack squat because I HATE doing THOSE businesses.
But they are good cash flow businesses. So, I got someone to take them over for me. I have no issues with that.
Where I have issue is that if you HATE how you make your money, or how you make your money is illegal, immoral and unethical but you’re making a metric ton of money… It won’t last long-term if you personally stay in it.
Do what you love, work hard, get your priorities in order and you’ll make all the money you need long-term.
Thanks for reading!
Until next time…
