I ran into Ty Cohen at the Marketing Mayhem event. Ty is the absolute master at creating cash flow from the Kindle. I asked him what his #1 digital marketing tip is for 2016.
I thought what he said was a GREAT refresher and reminder of how you NEED to build your brand and create a long-term relationship with your audience.
As you saw in the video Ty talks about staying connected to your audience.
In this day and age people are being bombarded with ‘messages’ all the time.
And if you’re not part of that ‘message barrage’ you’re going to at the very least lose brand recognition pretty quick.
Staying connected to your audience is paramount these days.
Twitter, Facebook and Instagram are at the very least the core platforms you want to stay connected on.
But you also need to watch the emergence of platforms like Snapchat, Medium, Anchor, Periscope, etc.
Snapchat especially is growing by leaps and bounds and at the time of this writing you can still be an early adopter. Imagine being one of the first people on Facebook or Twitter… I feel like that is the opportunity we have right now with Snapchat.
I myself am going to start doing a WHOLE lot more on Snapchat. I’m using it now in a private network just to get used to it and learn best practices, but pretty soon you’ll see me using it extensively.
In fact, let’s go ahead and connect on Snapchat now. Here’s an image of my snap code:
Take a screenshot or download my snap code. Then download or go into Snapchat if you already have it on your phone and simply add a friend. Then add by snapcode, choose my snap code when it brings up your photo library and Snapchat will recognize it and connect us.
Whether you use Snapchat or not. Remember what I said, staying connected to your audience is paramount. The game is who can stay the most connected, so play the game!
